Today we begin our 40 days of prayer and fasting!
At noon today we will meet for an hour in the Worship Center for prayer. Please come join us! “Prayer is not a task for a few, it is the privilege of all, and through it the church’s power is unleashed.” (Pastor Craig Thompson)
Over the next 40 days, preferably in the mornings, set aside some time to pray through the following acronym: ACTS.
Adoration ▪ Psalm 103:1 says, “Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name!” Take a few moments to praise God for who He is and express your love and devotion to Him.
Confession ▪ First John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Confess you sins, repent, and ask the Lord to create in you a clean heart and a steadfast spirit (Psalm 51:10).
Thanksgiving ▪ Psalm 105:1 says, “Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples!” Take some time to simply thank God, not asking Him for anything at this time, simply be grateful to Him.
Supplication ▪ Philippians 4:6,7 says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Would you join me in praying specifically for this GHBC request today: Unity. Pray
that God binds our hearts together with the agape love of Jesus, that we set aside our preferences for the blessing of others. And pray Philippians 2:3, Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.
Thank you, church family, for your prayers!
