DAY 6 AUGUST 13, 2017

Good morning, church family!  Happy Resurrection Day!

Please take some time right now to pray through the following acronym: ACTS:

Adoration ▪ Worship the LORD with a pure heart.

Confession ▪ Confess and forsake your sins and receive God’s mercy.

Thanksgiving ▪ Thank God for everything even the hard things. Why?  Because even in the hard times God is in control, and Romans 8:28 is still in the Bible!

Supplication ▪ Pray for Cornerstone Community Church.

One of the main prayer requests during our 40-day emphasis of prayer and fasting is Cornerstone Community Church.  This is a church plant of Great Hills Baptist Church.  On Sunday, September 17, we will complete our 40 days emphasis by commissioning Pastor Stuart Smithson and his family, along with 29 other members of our church, to go and plant CCC in the Cedar Park/Leander area.

Acts 13:1-3 states, “Now in the church that was at Antioch there were certain prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.  2 As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, ‘Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.’ 3 Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them away.”

God revealed to the church at Antioch that He had chosen two of their finest leaders to go on mission for Him.  Since God chose them for the work, the church really had no other choice but to send them away with their blessing, and that is precisely what they did.  They prayed, fasted, and laid hands on the two men and sent them away to go on mission to tell the world about the Savior.

On September 17, after having fasted and prayed for 40 days, we, too, will lay hands on our church plant leadership team and send them away with our blessing.  Yes, this is an act of faith, especially at this juncture in the life of our church.  We are stepping out in faith, but we are trusting God to provide for us as we send out some wonderful servants of Christ.  God will not be in debt to us.  He always blesses obedience and if we do what He tells us, though on paper it does not make sense, then I believe we are setting ourselves up for wonderful blessings!

Lord, we believe; please help our unbelief.
