This Week @ Great Hills

February 27, 2015

TGIF! I pray you have had a great week and are looking forward to a great day of worship this coming Lord’s Day. There are so many great things happening at Great Hills, and God continues to bless.

I am writing today by request from Pastor Danny as he is in Southeast Asia with Mike and Claudia Mericle. They are well and having a productive trip. I received this text from him just moments ago on this Thursday morning. “Asking for prayers. We had an intense afternoon sitting in home of K**** group, but God cleared the way and I got to share Jesus. There is firm resistance to the gospel. Lady showed us pic of her god ): and the leader of the family said no need for us to go to other K**** families if all we are going to do is share gospel ): But we still got to share Christ! We need prayer support. Thanks!” It is a very dark place where people worship one or more of their millions of available gods. Please pray for strength and protection for our team and for the gospel to push back the darkness so people will see the One True God.

As you read this, the church and many of our host homes will be busy preparing for the kick-off of the Divergent DNow (Disciple Now) Weekend. Please pray for Daniel and his team of host homes, staff and leaders who will be pouring into our students all weekend. Worship will be led by the JJ Weeks Band and preaching will be done by Dr. Shane Pruitt. JJ Weeks and Shane Pruitt will also be leading us in worship Sunday morning. We look forward to what God has in store for our church through the student ministry. You will not want to miss Sunday!

Thank you for praying for the pursuit of the corner lot land lease. Pastor Danny gave a short update last Sunday and will continue to update as progress is made. You may see a blue sign posted on the lot very soon simply advertising the availability of the pad for lease. It is not a for sale sign—we are not selling anything. We look forward to seeing that pad developed and producing financial resources that we can use for the Kingdom in the near future.

I don’t get the opportunity to tell you very often that Debbie and I love you, Great Hills. We are grateful for what God is producing in us—a Radiant Church that is Upward in Worship, Inward in Discipleship and Outward in Missions/Evangelism. I pray you are involved in these ministries! If not and you want to be, please contact me or any one of our pastors to help you get hooked up in Kingdom work. I look forward to seeing you Sunday as we gather to worship the Risen Savior!
