This Week @ Great Hills

April 3, 2015

Tonight at 6:00 we will have the Good Friday service where we will observe the Lord’s Supper. The service will last about 45 minutes and will be a special time of remembering the death of Jesus on the cross for our sins.  We will have many tables prepared to allow you to observe the Lord’s Supper as families.  If you see someone alone, please invite them to join you.

Our Easter Eggstravaganza is Saturday morning, April 4.  It will be a fun-filled time, especially for young families.  Before the kids find the 10,000 Easter eggs, I will share the gospel with them using the Resurrection Eggs.  Please join me in inviting your friends and neighbors to this family-friendly event.  There will be free breakfast tacos, bounce games, pony rides, and even a train ride.

On Easter Sunday, we are anticipating a great time of worshipping the Risen King.  We will have Bible Life at 9:30am followed by worship at 11:00am.  This year we are adding a special brunch for guests at 10:00am in the Great Hall.   So many of you are helping serve in these special days of outreach and ministry.  Thank you, and may God bless and use all of us for His glory and the expansion of His kingdom.

Our bi-annual Global Impact Celebration will be April 8-12.  The theme is “One Sacred Effort:  Finding Your Place in God’s Story.”  If you have not already picked up your prayer guide, please do so.  This extremely helpful document contains the GIC events and the various ministries that we are asking you to pray for—ministries that GHBC supports.  We have online sign-ups for the various meals.

I am grateful for the many ways God is blessing our church.  We had 37 decisions for Christ in March and many baptisms.  Also, starting this Sunday we will be back on TV in the greater Austin area on Channel KBVO.  The title of the broadcast is “The Radiant Life” and it will air from 7:30 to 8:00am.

This Sunday I am looking forward to preaching a message entitled “The God of the Impossible.”  It is a message on how the same God the Father who created us and raised His Son Jesus from the dead is still working miracles today.

It’s going to be a great weekend.  See you Sunday.
