God blessed us with a great night of worship last Sunday evening. The service lasted for three and a half hours, but time went by very quickly. There was much praise, prayer, Scripture reading, and confession as well as a baptism and impromptu love offering for one of our members to go on a mission trip. Many of our people came to the altar to pray for one another for jobs and for physical healing. God continues to bless our church. I hear multiple examples of you being the radiant bride of Christ in Austin and beyond, and I am so proud of you.
I have been sharing with the church for several weeks regarding our Building Vision Campaign to raise $5 million dollars in the next five years to make some much needed repairs, equipment purchases, and remodels on our campus and to be totally debt free by 2020. As we continue to prepare for this campaign, I will preach a message entitled “In the Church” based on Ephesians 3:20-21 on August 23. The following Sunday we will take up a special offering to kick off our Building Vision Campaign. Also, at this service we will receive the commitment cards indicating what you desire to give over the next twelve months. I know some can give much and others can give small amounts, but I hope everyone prays and obeys God as to what they should give to Building Vision above their regular tithes and offerings.
I am looking forward to Sunday and worshiping the Lord with the people of God at Great Hills. We have more folks that we will baptize and I will share a message from Revelation 19:1-10 entitled “The Best Is Yet to Come.” After the worship service I am looking forward to speaking on the subject of prayer with all our Bible Life leadership. Ross has planned the leadership meeting around these four pillars of our church: pray, care, share, and celebrate. We are gearing up for a fantastic fall here at Great Hills.
