This Week @ Great Hills

August 28, 2015

I write to you today while Pastor Danny is in South Asia.  Please join me and our staff in praying for Danny, Mike and Claudia Mericle, and Corey Hatch as they are serving our people group and witnessing the baptisms of the first converts to Christ.  It must be an exciting thing to watch and I look forward to seeing the story via video when they return home.

Sunday is going to be an exciting day in the life of Great Hills.  We have talked and prayed about Building Vision for several months. Last week you heard Pastor Danny preach a specific message concerning the vision of “Building Vision, 5 in 5″ as well as the future ministries of Great Hills.  This Sunday, August 30, we will bring a first-fruit offering for Building Vision as well as a 12-month commitment that your family will give over the next year to the improvements to the Great Hills facility and the retirement of the debt in September of 2020.  Please continue to pray about what you and your family will give to this campaign.

If you missed the message last week I want to encourage you to watch it before you bring your offering on Sunday.  You can see it here: https://vimeo.com/137179046.

We are pleased to have Dr. David Smith, Austin Baptist Association Director, preaching in Pastor Danny’s absence Sunday.  He is no stranger to us at Great Hills as he has preached and spoken on a number of occasions.  I look forward to his message from Daniel 6 entitled “God Is Able.”

Debbie and I enjoyed last week in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico as we celebrated our 35th anniversary.  We watched the service from the beach on my iPhone and were encouraged and blessed by what God is doing at Great Hills.  Thank you, Jana Morris, for leading worship while we were away and doing an awesome job.  We are excited to be back in worship this coming Lord’s Day and are looking forward with great anticipation to what God will do through our church in the months and years ahead!

I love you, church family, and continually pray for you.  I look forward to seeing you Sunday in worship!
