Christmas is only a few days away. These are blessed and busy days for sure! Ashley and the kids and I are like so many of you going wide open and very busy with work, school, family and life! We wish you a blessed and merry Christmas and pray for a safe time with your loved ones and friends.
On Sunday we will focus on 2 Peter 3:14-18 with a message entitled “Growing in Grace.” I am looking forward to preaching this message and also worshipping the Lord in song as we sing and celebrate the Messiah’s birth. Also on Sunday I will ask you again to please be generous and help us reach our Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for missions. Our goal is $100,000 which is very attainable if we all give our best gift to help support our nearly 5,000 missionaries all over the world.
We have an opportunity to finish very strongly this year and I ask that you continue to bless and support GHBC with your tithes and offerings. In order to receive tax-deductible status on your gifts to our church, please have them into the church office by December 31. I am grateful to God for how you are so gracious and generous in your giving and how we unanimously approved our 2014 budget.
I invite you to come to the Christmas Eve service at 5:00 pm on the 24th. We will have a sweet time of fellowship and singing Christmas carols. I will share a brief (yes, it is possible) message with you on “God’s perfect Man and man’s perfect God.”
We have many activities and events for the closing of 2013 and beginning of 2014. Please scroll down below and view them. We will start back with the systematic theology class on January 9 at 6:45 am in the Great Hall. We had such a great turnout and interest in this class in the fall, and I am looking forward to seeing many of you bright and early on Thursday mornings in the winter/spring.
See you Sunday.
PS: One more thing, please pull for my Auburn Tigers football team to win the national championship. Thank you!
