Merry Christmas. I pray that you are having a blessed Christmas Season with your loved ones. Ashley and I look forward to worshipping with our church family Saturday evening and Sunday morning. We will then travel to Alabama to spend some time next week with our families. This will be my last newsletter for 2016. It is hard to believe that this year is coming to a close. Time indeed flies.
Our annual Christmas Eve service will be on Saturday evening at 5:00pm and will last about 45 minutes. We will sing some Christmas carols; our student band will help lead in worship; and I will share about a 10 minute children’s message. I will invite all the children to join me and sit at the altar while I share the message. As we have promised over the last couple of weeks, we will give each child a nice Christmas gift. Trust me, your child, especially grade school kids, will love this gift! I am so excited to share this message and bless our children.
On Sunday morning we will have our worship service at 11:00, but we will not have Connect Group classes. I will finish my two-part Christmas message entitled “Our Gifts to God.” Our text is Luke 2:8-20. Please remember that Sunday is the last Sunday of the month which is when you can give to the Change-Your-World benevolence offering. Please bring some change or dollar bills to place in the orange buckets at the entrances to the worship center. This offering goes to help many in our church through our benevolence ministry.
Thank you for your faithfulness in giving your tithes and offerings. We have an opportunity to finish 2016 very strongly. Please remember also to make a sacrificial gift for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering; all the monies go to support our international missionaries.
May God bless you and keep you. Please pray for my family and me as we travel. See you Saturday and Sunday.
