This Week @ Great Hills

February 21, 2014

We are going to have a great day in the Lord on Sunday. The IMB missionary appointees will be teaching in our Bible Life classes and then joining us for worship. I am looking forward to preaching on Revelation 1:9-11 as we look at the second message entitled “Alpha and Omega.” If you know someone who is struggling with various trials in their life, please invite them to join you for worship as the beloved Apostle John has some wonderful words of comfort and strength for those experiencing difficulties in this life.

On Wednesday, February 26, we will host the International Mission Board Missionary Appointment Service of 40 people. It will be an amazing experience of worship. Our worship team will lead in worship and Dr. Tom Eliff, president of the IMB, will bring a charge to those heading off to serve Christ overseas. I think it will be one of the highlights of our year and I encourage you to please make a strong effort to attend.

God is growing our church and it is exciting to see the number of new people joining us on Sunday mornings. And with this growth we are in need of more worship-care volunteers to help with our babies through 4 years of age. Please prayerfully consider serving once a week every other month, as we are in real need of men and women who can help serve in this vital ministry. If you want to know more, please contact Laura Clontz at We really need more helpers!

All In, our high attendance day, is Sunday, March 2. We are going to have a great day. Our Bible Life classes are having a little friendly competition and we will award the winning class a nice prize–seriously, a nice prize–at the conclusion of our worship service. Following the service we will have a free lunch and enjoy a time of fellowship. Please bring one dessert per family. It is recommended that you bring items like cookies, brownies, and other dessert items that can be eaten with your fingers. Cindy West and her team of great volunteers have spent so much time on this event and I appreciate all their hard work. Please plan on coming and bringing someone with you to Bible Life, worship, and then lunch.

This Sunday is Change-Our-World Sunday, so please bring your change and place it in the buckets for our benevolence ministry. Thank you, and see you Sunday.
