God continues to grow His church and I am grateful. Thank you, as so many of you are inviting and investing in others, and God is rewarding your labor. I do have a request for help if you would kindly assist me. This is something that all of us as members of our church can do. While at a restaurant this week a lady approached my table and complained to me that when her daughter visited our church, she didn’t see any greeters and she couldn’t determine how to get into the church building, and so she drove away. Can I ask you to please be aware of people as you enter the campus? We do not have a central entrance, but we all know there are many entrances. However, our guests are not privy to that information. Please ask people if you can assist them in getting to where they need to be. Thank you for your help!
We will have our monthly Change-Your-World Benevolence Offering this Sunday. When you see the orange containers at the entrances to the worship center, please make a donation. We are able to help so many of our own church members through these contributions. Also, on Sunday we will continue our study entitled “Let’s Build Something.” The text is Nehemiah 2:1-5, and the title of the sermon is “What Do You Want?” I am looking forward to preaching this message!
I will be teaching our monthly new member class on Sunday, February 5. Please invite anyone who is interested in becoming a member of our church. We will begin the class at 9:30am and meet in room 125 in Building A.
We will have a special called business meeting on February 12 immediately after the morning worship service to vote on changing the name of the church. We have been talking about this for months, actually a couple of years, and the day is almost here! Recently I had lunch with some guests who visited our church. After lunch the lady told her husband that it was unfortunate that GHBC had that incident happen this summer. She had visited our church’s website and thought what had happened 11 years ago had recently occurred. We talked about things like this in the Town Hall meeting and it illustrates again one of the primary reasons for renaming Great Hills Baptist Church to Radiant Church Austin.
Tomorrow is the annual Texas Rally for Life at the capitol. Let me encourage you to take some time to attend this rally. It is a wonderful way to show your support for the lives of the unborn. For more information, please go to the Texas Rally for Life website.
What a blessing it is to hear stories of our radiant church members sharing the Gospel using the Five Crosses presentation. Allan Nichols recently led a young lady in her twenties to receive Christ after sharing the gospel using the Five Crosses. Way to go, Allan! We are printing more tracts, so please pick up some copies and share the good news of Jesus using this simple tool. Also, Corey Hatch, our media pastor, has placed a digital version of the tract on our website and on our mobile app. It looks great!
God is working. Keep telling the good news and making disciples who will make more disciples until Jesus comes again.
