This-Week-At-Great-Hills

We are still rejoicing over an outstanding VBS.  Thank you again to all our leadership and the many volunteers who worked tirelessly to make our 2016 VBS one of the best we have ever had!  Last Sunday we had numerous guests on our campus and they all enjoyed seeing their children have such a great time.  On an upcoming KBVO broadcast we will show the message I preached entitled “The Five Crosses.”  I will also explain to the viewers a little about VBS which has become truly one of the biggest outreach ministries our radiant church engages in all year.  So once again, “thank you” to all who served.

Ashley and I are very grateful to God and our church family for all the support and encouragement we are receiving as we make last-minute preparations for Hannah and Jeffrey’s wedding.  For those who have had their daughters get married, I don’t have to tell you the numerous details that have to be taken care of in order for the wedding to go smoothly.  Terry and Sharon Samplaski, Jeffrey’s parents, have been great, and we are all looking forward to our families joining together.  Jeffrey is an answer to a prayer I have prayed for 25 years.  He loves Jesus and my daughter, and he is committed to putting Christ first and leading his family well.  Ashley and I are so appreciative of his commitment to Christ and to Hannah.

Please pray for those traveling to the wedding as we have many family and friends who will be attending.  We are so blessed to have so many of our church family at Great Hills who have RSVP’d and will be attending.  It helped us so much that you let us know you are coming, as it enabled us to plan seating and food for the reception that will be held in the Great Hall.  We are believing God that all will go very well.  It will be both worshipful and celebratory with lots of festivities.  Thanks again to all who have helped and who are coming to the wedding.

On Sunday, Nate Ingle will bring a message from Galatians 5:1 entitled “It Was for Freedom!”  Of all people on the planet, we are the most blessed.  We live in a free country, the greatest nation in the world.  But we are even more blessed because we are a nation that was founded upon the values and ethics espoused in Holy Scripture.  I ask that you pray for our country, especially during this election year.  Stamped on our currency is the motto, “In God We Trust,” and I pray our country will indeed trust in the one, true, living God–Father, Son, Holy Spirit.

During the days of summer a lot of our people will miss many Sundays due to vacations and travel.  Please help us by giving online or by mailing in your tithes and offerings so we can continue to operate and function as a church.

Have a blessed and safe weekend.  Hope to see you soon.
