This Week @ Great Hills

July 18, 2014

There are so many good things happening in and through our church during these summer months. Many of you are going on mission trips and God is using you in powerful ways. Ashley and I joined 56 of our students and adults on Thursday during their weeklong trip to San Antonio. I am so proud of our bold and compassionate students. They are on fire for the Lord and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.

We are blessed to have Rob and Jamie, team strategy leaders in North Africa, with us on Wednesday, July 23. A couple of years ago I had the opportunity to go visit them in their home and serve with them. They are a great couple that God is using in a tough place in our world. I invite you to come meet them and hear about the work they are involved in. We will meet in room C248 at 7:00pm.

I love how our church is reaching out to many young families, children, and students. Take a look at the announcements below and take advantage of the fun upcoming events for the Radiant Kids with Thrilling Thursdays and for the students with Terrific Tuesdays. Speaking of good times, on Wednesday night we had a great crowd of folks ages 50 and above who enjoyed A Cappella Texas, a barbershop group, which featured our own Doug Peterson. We had such a good time. I appreciate Ross Hartsfield and Diane Eppler putting this together.

Our next new member class, church@greathills, is Sunday, July 27, from 12:30 to 2:30pm. If you know someone interested in joining our church, have him or her sign up, as we would love to have them.

Sunday we will continue our series of sermons on the amazing book of Revelation. Sunday’s message will focus on Revelation 3:14-17, the Lukewarm Church at Laodicea. If our worship is anything like last Sunday, then all I can say is “Wow.” So many have commented on how much they appreciate our corporate worship. Thank you, Terry Hurt, and all of you involved in our worship ministry!

I love you, church family, and thank you for your continued prayers for my family and me as we serve you. I am deeply grateful for how you love God, one another, and the unchurched. Thank you for your faithfulness in attending Bible Life and Worship and giving your tithes and offerings. We simply could not exist without you!
