We are still rejoicing over our daughter Hannah’s wedding to Jeffrey Samplaski on July 2. Thank you to all who attended, and thanks also to so many who helped us with the numerous facets related to weddings! We are grateful to God for all His blessings and especially the many ways He continues to demonstrate His favor on our church family and on our immediate family. We have heard from the newlyweds who are having a great time in the Bahamas. I hear there was another engagement recently. Congratulations to Joshua Andrews and Elizabeth Speasmaker on their engagement. Daniel VanCleave must have had something to do with this!
I look forward to being back Sunday and preaching again on the life of Joseph. The title of the message is “The Power of Conscience” and the text is Genesis 42:1-28. Someone well said, “There is no power like that of a clear conscience.” The opposite, however, is true as well. We will see this firsthand in the sermon Sunday when addressing the ten brothers of Joseph who betrayed him. God is so kind and forgiving, and He is always ready to restore us to Himself when we seek Him and turn back to Him.
Thank you for your faithfulness in serving the Lord and giving your tithes and offerings during these days of summer. We are nearing the end of our first year of the 5-in-5 Building Vision campaign and are so close to reaching our first-year goal of $1.2 million for the remodeling and work done on our campus. In a few weeks you will begin to see construction on our new coffee shop which is going to be such a blessing to have. It will allow us to fellowship together more easily and to meet many first-time guests who will visit our church. Our new flooring is coming along very nicely. I am looking forward to the new PA and AV systems that will be installed in our worship center in August.
Have a blessed weekend and see you on the Lord’s Day.
