This Week @ Great Hills

June 10, 2016

We are in full wedding-planning mode at the Forshee house!  We are looking forward to Hannah and Jeffrey’s big day on July 2, in the Worship Center at GHBC.  As a member of our church family, please know you are invited to come to the wedding.  Please do not feel obligated in any way to buy a gift; we would just love for you to come celebrate with us.  It will be a time of worshiping God and joining in marriage two people who love Jesus.  I do ask that you please let us know if you plan to attend.  This is so important because it enables us to prepare the amount of food and drink to serve at the reception in the Great Hall immediately following the wedding.  If you haven’t had a chance to RSVP, please contact Kathy Jones at

When you arrive on our church campus on Sunday you will see signs of progress—a direct result of your faithful and sacrificial giving to Building Vision.  Construction has begun on replacing the carpet in the Ministry Mall area.  Please be aware of the change and watch your step.  We will replace the carpet with sealed and stained concrete which is going to look fantastic.  Next month we hope to begin construction on our new coffee shop.  We are getting very close to reaching our goal of $1.2 million for Phase One of Building Vision.  As of today we have raised $998,000.  Remember our Building Vision goal is to raise $5 million in five years (5 in 5) to help retire our church debt and make much-needed remodels and upgrades to our church campus.  God has blessed us with nearly 30 acres in the Arboretum area of northwest Austin.  Our grounds and exterior look very beautiful.  Now, we are attempting to give attention to the inside of our church.  Thank you for continuing to give your tithes and offerings to our radiant church.  God is blessing and we are seeing Him do mighty things in and though us, and I am so very grateful.

On Sunday we will continue our study of the life of Joseph.  Our text is Genesis 41:1-36, and the title of the sermon is “What about Dreams?”  If you are in town on Sunday, please join us for Bible study in one of our Connect Group classes at 9:30am and for corporate worship at 11:00am.  I will continue my class on Making Disciples at 9:30am in the choir room and I invite you to join us.

God continues to bless and use our church to touch the nations of the world.  I am so grateful to Him for His hand of favor upon us.  Last Sunday, I believe we set a record for the number of online viewers we had tuned in to our worship service.  May God’s favor continue to reside upon our church as we preach Christ crucified, buried, and risen to Austin and to the far reaches of the world.

Onward with Jesus,

Danny Forshee
