Vacation Bible School is going strong! We have seen kids commit their lives to Christ and well over 500 people have been on our church campus each day of VBS. Our volunteers have been amazing! I am so grateful to those in leadership like Teresa Smith, Jennifer Angle, and Kristin Miller. They have worked tirelessly. On Sunday our church will get to see firsthand all the hard work our radiant kids have put into the Agency D3 VBS. They will sing their songs with the hand motions and the drama team will have a presentation. Just an FYI–some of the kids, and even the adults, may break out in the chicken dance! Then I will preach a gospel-centered message. Following the worship service, from 1:00 to 3:00pm, we will have our VBS Family Celebration beginning with lunch in the Atrium. Afternoon activities include door prizes, inflatables, a petting zoo, face painting and more. Spirit 105.9 will be here to provide us with great live radio and a Kona Ice machine to keep us cool.
We aired our first broadcast on The Church Channel on Wednesday night. I am so grateful to God for bringing this to fruition. The Danny Forshee Evangelistic Association, which I started 10 years ago, is paying the airtime for these broadcasts. We have viewers all over the country, some of whom support DFEA with their prayers and financial contributions, and that is what makes these broadcasts possible. I believe many are going to be saved as they hear and see the Word of God preached. Most people in Austin will be able to watch. I encourage you to use this media tool as a way to witness and invite people to our church.
This Sunday is Change-Your-World Sunday. Please bring some change and dollar bills to place in the orange buckets throughout the worship center and help us as we help many in our church with benevolent needs.
I am so grateful to God for all the wonderful things He is doing in and through our church family. We have had 200 people trained in the evangelism ministry called Reproducing Discipleship, led by Fred and Melissa Campbell. We have many of our people going out every week sharing Jesus with those in our city. Also, many Great Hills members are traveling on national and international mission trips this summer. I wish you could have been here this week at VBS. You would have seen a unified, joyful, talented bunch of Great Hills people serving Jesus and making a difference in the lives of many. I love the body of Christ at GHBC.
See you Sunday. Watch for the chicken dance.
