This Week @ Great Hills

June 26, 2015

Thank you, church family, for your gracious gifts to Ashley and me on our five-year anniversary at Great Hills Baptist Church.  And thank you, Deacon Chairman Tom Collier, for your kind and encouraging comments spoken to me during our worship service.  We are grateful to God for His blessings and favor upon our church and for all the great ministry God has in store for Great Hills in the days and years ahead.

This week has been incredible.  Every day we have had hundreds of children on our campus having a blast at our Vacation Bible School.  We also have had a small army of Great Hills volunteers working and serving with such diligence and Christlikeness.  Thank you all so very much.  Many children have given their lives to Christ this week!  On Sunday we as a church family will have the opportunity to celebrate with our children as they lead us in worship. Comedian and impersonator Dennis Swanburg will speak briefly during the morning service and then Sunday evening at 6:00 he will give a full show. It will be a blessed evening.

This Sunday is our monthly Change-Your-World benevolence offering Sunday.  Please bring loose change and dollar bills and place them in the orange receptacles around the entrances to the worship center.  God enables us to help so many in our church family with these monies through our benevolence ministry.

Momentum is building for our Building Vision campaign. I am looking forward to sharing more with you in the near future regarding our five-year campaign to raise five million dollars.  We will use this money to make repairs and remodels on our church campus and also to pay off our debt!  Can you imagine how much more ministry we can accomplish in Jesus’ name, both locally and around the world, when our note is paid in full?  Please pray and ask God what He would have you give to our Building Vision campaign which will officially launch on August 30. We will make one-year commitments until 2020, and in that year I believe we will accomplish our goal of paying off our loan.

Many of our people are traveling during the summer months for vacations.  Please be safe and have a blessed summer.  Also, please remember to send GHBC your tithes and offerings even though you will not be present some Sundays.  The summer is when we spend a large amount of money from our budget on wonderful ministries like VBS and camps.  Thank you for your faithfulness in giving your tithes and offerings so the Lord’s work at GHBC can continue unabated.

Remember to invite someone to join you on Sunday, especially families with young children. Everyone is invited to lunch in the Atrium immediately after the worship service. After eating, the kids can go outside to play on the water-fun inflatables. It will be a great afternoon for family fun.
