I hope you are having a good week. Many of our church family are enjoying some days of vacation with their families during Spring Break. We were able to make a visit to see Ashley’s family in Alabama.
On Sunday we will continue our sermon series HELP! Stuart Smithson will speak on the subject of helping raise and influence our children. It is going to be a great day and I am looking forward to being in our church worshipping the Lord Jesus.
We are going to have a powerful time of worship on Good Friday, March 25, at the Frank Erwin Center. Many of our local pastors will be speaking briefly live or on video about what this special day in the Christian faith means. Michael W. Smith will join local worship leaders, along with a 100 voice choir, in leading worship during the service. MWS will also do a concert at the conclusion of the service. The service is free but tickets are requested. You can get them at http://serveourcity.com/soc/. The service will begin at 6:00pm. Concessions will be available. I hope you are able to join with many other believers in the greater Austin area for this special time of worship.
Two days later we will celebrate Resurrection Sunday! March 27 will look a little different as we will provide a fun time for the children with the helicopter egg-drops. We will also serve free breakfast tacos/donuts and have a few prizes for giveaways. The first egg-drop is scheduled for 10:00am. Our worship service will begin at 11:00am. Please be praying about whom you will invite to join you on this special day. As God places people on your heart, reach out and invite them to join you.
Let me remind you that we plan to secure and close off the upper balcony area of the worship center beginning Sunday, April 3. We understand that the primary reason some of our folks sit in the extreme back is to escape the direct cold airflow in the main worship center seating area. I want to assure you that we have heard you and have come up with a plan to help that situation. We are excited to have the church family sitting together in the main seating area for worship. Thank you for your help as we make this seating adjustment.
We are excited to announce the launch of a newly designed and updated website on Easter Sunday, March 27. We hope some of the improved navigation and features of the site will make it easier for guests, as well as Great Hills members, to find pertinent information about the life and happenings of our church.
Thank you for being a radiant church that loves God, one another, and those who don’t know Christ. Please keep praying, caring, and sharing. I know we will be celebrating many mighty things our awesome God will do in us and through us.
