Greetings and Happy Friday!
I am writing today as Pastor Danny and his family are on vacation and enjoying some much deserved downtime on the coast of Alabama. Please join me in praying for them that they are getting some much needed rest and for their trip home this weekend.
Sunday our Student Pastor, Daniel VanCleave, will be preaching in Danny’s absence. It is Senior Recognition Sunday when we will be honoring our High School graduates. It is always an exciting time in our families when they have a child completing one phase and getting ready to enter another. We pray Sunday will be an encouragement to both graduate and family as we recognize and honor them for a job well done.
Monday the church office will be closed in observance of Memorial Day. I hope you will enjoy the day with family and friends, but do so mindful of the souls who have given the ultimate sacrifice of their lives to secure and maintain the freedoms we enjoy as Americans.
I hope you will mark your calendars for June 25, as we have a very special patriotic service planned to celebrate this great land in which we call home. The choir and orchestra have some very exciting music planned and Admiral Endel Lee will be our guest speaker for the day. We will also be blessed to hear Admiral Lee’s wife, Kathy, sing before he speaks. It will be a great opportunity to celebrate and pray for America. We are a divided nation with a plethora of issues but even with our problems…she is still the greatest nation on planet Earth.
I ask that you remember me and Debbie in your prayers on Tuesday, May 30. I will be having Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion surgery on my neck. I will be out of the office for two or three weeks and will not be able to lead worship for a few weeks as I go through the recovery time. Corey Hatch and Jana Morris will be leading worship over these next few weeks. We are blessed to have such talented worship leaders in our church!
I look forward to seeing you Sunday, ready for a great day of celebration and encouragement as we seek to be the Radiant Church in Austin that God is calling us to be!
