Sunday will be a big day for us. Our second largest attendance for the year is Mother’s Day, second only to Easter. Some will come because it is the Lord’s Day and they will be here to worship; others will come because grandma and/or mom told them they were going to church. Whatever the reasons for coming, I am glad that they will be with us. We will begin with a powerful video followed by the dedication of 11 babies. I will preach a message from Acts 16:13-15 entitled “The Lord Opened Her Heart.” The sermon is a salvation message, as I know there will be many lost people in attendance. Please pray for Sunday; I believe it will be a great day.
I am looking forward to teaching on making disciples in June. During the Connect Group time I will be training those who want to learn how to disciple another person the way Jesus did. Our Lord said in John 15:8, “By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.” I taught this material in Asia, and I am glad to teach it to our people to help us grow deeper in our relationship to Jesus as the Radiant Church.
On Tuesday night I went out with our team of six and went door-to-door inviting people to our church and praying for people, and the Lord blessed. There are so many hurting people within a short distance of our church! Wednesday night I walked around campus. It is amazing the number of ministries we have taking place on our campus on Wednesday evening. I posted on Facebook some of what I saw. So proud of our church— how many are serving and using their spiritual gifts for our Lord and the building up of the Body of Christ at Great Hills. Idle hands and minds are the workshop of the devil for sure. I have noticed in almost 30 years of ministry that people get very unsettled, complain, and start looking for another church when they are not serving in the church where God placed them. As I stated Sunday in my sermon, please find a place to get involved in ministry in your church, even if it is something some may deem small and not very important. If you are serving in Jesus’ name, it is large and very significant! Ok, I will stop preaching now. Love you, church family. God is on the move; disciples are being made; and His radiant church is in for some amazing days and years.
See you Sunday. It will be a big day as we give away free roses to all the moms and free portraits for families. Please be on the lookout for new faces and go out of your way to make them feel welcome.
