God blessed us with a wonderful weekend with the Ripkens. So many of you have made comments on how you were blessed and challenged as a result of hearing them. I pray that God continues to use them powerfully as they speak all over the world regarding the persecuted church. And what a great job our Radiant Kids choirs did on Splash Kingdom. Thank you to Tonya Hartsfield and all the children’s choir directors. Our kids are the best! And thank you church family for the love offering you gave Sunday night for a pastor friend of mine in Austin who has had such a tough year with medical expenses. I am so proud of the many ways our church reaches out and helps others.
Sunday we will be observing Mother’s Day which is always a special day at our church. We will dedicate 10 babies and children to the Lord. I am preaching a message entitled “I’ve Got This” from Matthew 11:2-6, 28. It is a bit unusual to preach on this text on Mother’s Day, but I believe God led me to this text to prepare this sermon for all who will come worship on the Lord’s Day. If you are struggling with doubt and need a word of blessing and encouragement, come to church and invite someone to come join you. Mother’s Day is a wonderful day of celebration for most, but for many it is a very hard day. Pray for me as I share this message God has laid on my heart from the Gospel of Matthew.
Wednesday, May 14, will be a fun and busy evening here at GHBC. Our AWANA ministry will have their annual Awards Night and our Student Ministry will have an open house to unveil their new logo/stage. I am looking forward to attending both of these events.
Finally, thanks for praying for my MOHS surgery on Tuesday. It was a bit more invasive than I had thought, but all came out well. I will be there Sunday, but my face will probably still be swollen. I will still have the 12 stitches, but nothing a little makeup cannot handle.
Blessings to you and see you Sunday.
