There is much happening in and through our church. I am grateful to God for the privilege of serving a radiant church like ours, a church committed to worshipping God, teaching His Word, and making disciples of all nations. Our South Asia team arrived home safely on Tuesday. God used them in powerful ways to assist one of our ministry partners, Finny Matthews. Pray that they get rested up and completely restored to health.
On Sunday we will be back in the grand book of Revelation as we study Revelation 21:1-8 with a sermon entitled “All Things New.” One of the glorious things about heaven is what is not in heaven. Verse 4 teaches us that in heaven there is no more pain or suffering. Praise the Lord! Pray for me as I preach this message of encouragement and hope.
Men, if you don’t have a Connect Group class or maybe your wife serves in another ministry area on Sunday morning, I want to invite you to a new Connect Group class for men. It meets at 9:30am in room A168 and is led by Gary Wakefield and Troy Daeschner. The title of the study is 33 The Series: A Man and His Design. This series is designed to inspire and equip men to pursue authentic manhood as modeled by Jesus Christ in His 33 years on earth. It teaches God’s mandates for all men, offering a clear definition of authentic manhood that will help men on their journey.
Allow me to encourage you to be faithful in the giving of your tithes and offerings to our church. It is because of your faithful and consistent giving that we are able to do mighty things in Jesus’ name. We are way behind in giving to expenses for 2015. We will need a great November 22 Harvest Day and end-of-year giving to catch up. But we can do it! So many are faithfully giving; please know how deeply appreciative I am to you. We are moving forward with Building Vision, our campaign to raise $5 million in five years to pay off our debt and make some repairs and remodels to our church campus. Also, we continue to make good headway on the leasing and eventual sale of the piece of property on the corner of Jollyville and Morado Circle. Please keep praying for these extremely important financial endeavors.
It is a great day to be a part of the kingdom of God and GHBC, the radiant church. He is working in and through us and I give Him praise and worship!
