This Week @ Great Hills

October 17, 2014

Last Sunday evening we had a great time of worship followed by a town hall meeting to present “Building Vision” and allow our church family to ask questions. On Sunday morning, October 19, immediately following our worship service, we will have a special called business meeting to discuss and vote on only one item—the ground lease. I am very grateful for the wisdom and insight from those who serve on our Fiscal and Future Team. God has blessed GHBC with some great men and women.

I posted this on Facebook earlier this week, but will mention it again here in this newsletter. On Tuesday the Patio Café was full of people from all over the world! Our Life Bridge ministry is doing a great job helping internationals in our city. We teach them English, American culture, and, most importantly, share the gospel with them. Nancy Gibbs, Diana Cantu, and their team of Great Hills volunteers are doing splendid kingdom work. Also on Tuesday, I visited our Radiant Friends ministry here on our church campus. This ministry consists of Great Hills members who love and serve those suffering from Alzheimer’s or dementia. Barbara Cross and a host of our senior saints do a marvelous job of ministering to these individuals and their families.

Ashley and I went out Thursday evening with many from our church and knocked on doors in the 78759 zip code to share the love of Jesus. We love our radiant church that shines outward in evangelism, missions, and service. On Saturday we are going to join many of you at Dave and Lola Williams’ Crowe’s Nest Farm. This will be a great time of fellowship.   We invite you to join us, especially families with children.

On Sunday we will study Revelation, chapter 8, as we look at the various trumpet judgments of God during the Great Tribulation. Studying Revelation increases my love for God and His Word. It also gives me a greater burden to share Jesus with those who do not know Him. Pray for me and join us for worship on Sunday.

Upward in Worship. Inward in Discipleship. Outward in Evangelism, Missions, and Service.
