The Christian band, for King and Country has a popular song entitled, “Fix My Eyes,” and it has a powerful message. We are to do many things for Christ, but preeminently we are to fix our eyes on Him, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). And as another Christian song puts it, “Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.” May God strengthen you, and empower you and me to stay focused on Jesus as we travel this side of Heaven.
Someone said as a leader that when you feel you have shared the vision numerous times and are tired of stating and restating it, that is when many will hear it for the first time. Allow me to restate our vision-GHBC exists to be a radiant, multigenerational, multi-ethnic church that shines upward in worship, inward in discipleship, and outward in evangelism and missions. My heart’s desire is to see GHBC be a church that makes disciples who in turn reproduce and make more disciples.
On Sunday prior to preaching from Revelation 8:7-13 “The Tribulation Judgment,” I will take a few minutes to speak to our church about “Building Vision.” My goal is for us to raise money for some needed improvements to our church campus. We will not borrow money to make these improvements; rather, we will pray and trust God to bring the increase. Then as we raise the money we will repair and remodel things like bathrooms, carpet, flooring, and other things that we need to do. Would you pray with me about what you can do to help? We will start the campaign on Sunday, November 23, with our annual Harvest Day Offering.
Finally, please pray for our India team as we prepare to leave Sunday. After I preach, I will need to slip out and head to the airport.
Have a blessed weekend.
