I am looking forward to hearing about the ways we are able to bless our neighbors on Halloween night, October 31. Our goal is not to have one Fall Fest at church, but 200 of them scattered throughout the greater Austin area. In our sermon series on the Art of Neighboring–Love Where You Live, we have noted that Jesus said all the Law and Prophets can be summarized with this statement: love God and love your neighbor (Matthew 22:37-40). We also learned how to overcome the barriers of time and fear. May you and I seize every opportunity God gives us to obey this powerful and all-encompassing command.
On Sunday we will resume our study in Revelation. Our text is 20:1-10. I am looking forward to sharing this message with you on the topic of the millennial (thousand-year) reign of Christ yet to come.
After the morning worship service we will have a business meeting regarding the piece of property at the corner of Jollyville and Morado Circle. I have some very promising news to share with you which I believe could very well be God’s favor upon our church.
I’ve heard wonderful reports about the outstanding orchestra concert last Sunday night. Thank you, Jerry Babbitt, for 35 great years of ministry in leading the GHBC orchestra. We have so many gifted musicians, and it is a blessing to see God’s people using their talents for His glory.
This week I was in North Carolina preaching a revival meeting at the Sandy Creek Baptist Church where a former student of mine is the pastor. God blessed and we had a wonderful time. We saw God move and I’m so very grateful. Sandy Creek BC is 260 years old! They just built a new sanctuary and it was packed for the revival services.
Have a blessed weekend. Hope to see you Sunday for a very important day in the life of our church.
