On Sunday, October 12, we will have a special night of praise and worship at 6:00pm in the worship center followed by a church town hall meeting. Over the last year I have been praying and thinking much about GHBC and our future. I have been meeting with a group of sharp laymen in our church in what we have called the Fiscal and Future Team at GHBC. These men, our Lead Team of pastors, and I have met frequently and prayed often. We have some information we want to share with the church body in an informal setting so you can listen, ask questions, and give your feedback. We have been meeting in smaller groups with Great Hills members; these meetings have gone very well. Please mark your calendars and join us for this night of worship and hearing my heart on the future of our great church.
Everyone is invited, especially those with young children, to our Fun Day for All at Crowe’s Nest Farm in Manor on October 18, from 10:00am to 3:00pm. Our own David and Lola Williams are opening their farm to us so we can have hayrides, pet the animals, and have lunch. Please go online to sign up so we can know how many to prepare for. There is no cost.
Dr. Jim Richards, the executive director of the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention, will be our guest preacher on Sunday. Jim is a dear friend of mine and wonderful man of God. You are going to be blessed and challenged by his powerful message from God’s Word.
We have been doing well for the year financially, but for some reason the month of September is slacking considerably. Please be faithful in the giving of your tithes and offerings to our church, as we simply cannot operate without your financial support.
I love you, church family. Have a blessed weekend.
