On Sunday we are looking forward to beginning our new eight-week sermon and Connect Group study entitled CROSSFIT. We will focus on our Lord’s command to make disciples and will look at both evangelism and discipleship. Our aim is to help equip you as a disciple or follower of Jesus so you can go and make more disciples. Disciples making disciples–what a grand concept! Our sermon text is Mark 8:34-37 and the sermon title is “The Power of the Cross.” Both in the sermon and in Connect Group classes we will note that the first letter “C” in the acrostic CROSSFIT stands for Cross. Just last week God gave me the opportunity to lead a UT student to Christ using the Five Crosses evangelistic tool that we will be learning and implementing as a church. I invite you to join us each Tuesday night in October as we go out and contact people, sharing Jesus with them, and inviting them to our church. We will meet at 6:00pm in the Atrium and be finished at 7:00pm.
Our Sunday evening town hall meeting at 6:00 will begin with a time of praise and prayer. Following that I will share some very important news with you as it relates to our church plant and give you an update on Building Vision. We then will continue the dialogue on changing the name of our church. There will be some time allocated for you to ask questions or make comments. If you are unable to do so due to lack of time, please note that our staff and some of our lay leadership will be available to assist you. I hope you come and you are ready to hear some wonderful news. If all goes according to plan, we will be in a position to receive a tremendous financial blessing, and my response to that is Praise God!
I hope you have a blessed weekend and your favorite football teams win. But win or lose, rain or shine, I really would love to see you Sunday as we begin CROSSFIT that morning and have our town hall meeting that evening.
