It has been a blessed ten days as our team of four has been in South Asia ministering to our UUPG. I am thrilled to share with you that while on this mission trip I was able to baptize 15 of those within our adopted people group! After nearly four years of praying, going, and strategizing we are beginning to see the fruit of our labor. Thank you GHBC for being a radiant church that takes the Great Commission very seriously by taking the gospel of Jesus to those mentioned in Acts 1:8—to the uttermost places in the earth! There is still much work to be done, but we have a wonderful strategy in place and national partners who are assisting us in marvelous ways.
On Sunday we will be observing the Lord’s Supper and our text is Matthew 26:36-44. In this biblical text we read where Jesus prayed to the Father three times that this cup of suffering—an agonizing death on the cross—would be taken away from Him, but the Father said no. Jesus obediently went to the cross and died, and because He died and lives we too can live eternally with Him in heaven. The title of the sermon Sunday that God has given me over the last couple weeks in Asia is “When God Says No.”
Church family, thank you for giving so generously and sacrificially toward our Building Vision 5 in 5 campaign. The total amount received and pledged to be given in year one of our campaign is $1,024,139.69. We are off to a wonderful start and again thank you to all who gave and pledged to give!
I look forward to seeing you on Sunday.
