What is the Milestone Path?

Parenting is an incredible journey full of mountaintop highs, the lows of a valley, and everything in between. It is one of the sweetest callings that God places on the lives of His people. However, it can also be one of the most challenging, especially if we try to do it alone.

At Great Hills, we are convinced that God did not design his people to live life in isolation in any season of life. This certainly applies to parenting. Throughout the Bible, we see that God designed the church and the family to work together to raise the next generation of Christians.

According to the Bible, the parent is, what we call, the primary disciple-maker of their children. Plainly, if God has placed children in your home, it is His desire for you to take on the mantle of being the primary spiritual influence in that child's life.

However, the Scriptures are clear that God does not leave the spiritual development of children solely up to the parents. It is God's design that the church would partner with the parent in this pursuit.

With that in mind, Great Hills has adopted the Milestone Path, which is our strategy to help parents pass on the Christian faith to their children. The MilestonePath is a clear path that partners the church and the home to equip parents with the tools they need to point their children to Jesus in every stage of life.
